Stacks Labs develops and maintains the core infrastructure of the Stacks network — Bitcoin's leading Layer 2. Our products and tools are live and in active development:
Stacks Protocol
LIVE
The Stacks blockchain itself — a Layer 2 that brings smart contracts and decentralized applications to Bitcoin. The network has crossed $600M+ in total value locked and supports a growing ecosystem of DeFi, NFT, and developer tooling applications. The recent Nakamoto upgrade significantly improved speed, security, and Bitcoin finality.
sBTC
LIVE
A decentralized, programmable Bitcoin asset that allows BTC to be used natively within Stacks DeFi applications. Over 5,000 BTC have been pegged in through sBTC, enabling Bitcoin-denominated lending, borrowing, and yield strategies.
Developer Tools
LIVE
A suite of open-source tools that enable developers to build on Stacks and Bitcoin:
Clarinet — A development environment for writing, testing, and deploying Clarity smart contracts to Stacks and Bitcoin.
Stacks.js — JavaScript libraries for identity, authentication, storage, and transactions on the Stacks blockchain.
Stacks Explorer — A block explorer for exploring transactions, accounts, and smart contracts on the Stacks network, with a built-in sandbox for experimentation.
Clarity WASM
IN DEVELOPMENT
